Welcome

I believe every adult should have a written will, regardless of his or her age, income, marital status or number of children. For that reason, I have devoted most of my practice to writing wills, trusts and other estate planning documents.

To ensure that I address my clients’ many individual concerns, I typically meet with them three times to create the legal documents (wills, trusts, medical directives, powers of attorney) that together form an “estate plan.” During the first meeting, I talk to my clients about their goals, planning for such concerns as protecting spouses from overreaching tax collectors and ensuring their children will remain with loving family members or friends. During the second meeting, we review the documents I have prepared to ensure that they achieve the clients’ goals. During the third meeting, after making any necessary changes, I arrange a will signing, coordinating all necessary witnesses and notaries. Most estate plans are completed in two to three weeks, depending on complexity and client schedule. But some clients choose to complete their plan in as little as a single day!

Many of my clients work non-traditional hours, and few people can take time from their jobs to attend to personal business. Recognizing that my clients need me to work around their busy lives, I gladly schedule meetings and house calls at almost any time of day or week. I am also available by phone and e-mail and always try to return messages within 24 hours. I am based in Olney, a Montgomery County community conveniently located near Rockville, Silver Spring, Potomac, Gaithersburg, Damascus, Germantown, Ashton, Derwood, Sandy Spring, Fulton, Highland, Columbia and other parts of Howard County.

I am committed to serving my clients efficiently and cost-effectively. I charge set fees for most basic estate-planning services, such as will and trust writing. For those services, my fee does not increase no matter how long it takes me to complete the documents or meet with the client. In such cases, the client knows how much my services will cost before I begin work. For more complex services, such as contract writing and probate administration, I bill by the hour, but only after providing a fair and clear explanation of my rates and billing policies.

I invite you to contact me for a free telephone consultation to discuss your needs.
